SEA Sailmakers’ Fortnightly Update: Crafting Excellence and Expanding Our Global Reach

Hello, SEA Sailmakers community!

The past two weeks have been incredibly busy and rewarding for us at South East Asia Sails (SEA Sailmakers). We’ve been hard at work, creating custom sails for a variety of vessels bound for destinations across the globe. From Thailand to the United States, and even as far as Oman, our sails are reaching new horizons. Here’s a detailed look at what we’ve accomplished over the last two weeks.

Recent Sailmaking Projects

  1. Radial Cut Full Batten Mainsail for an Adams 45
Our team crafted a radial cut full batten mainsail for an Adams 45, which is heading to Satun, Thailand. This sail is designed for durability and optimal performance, perfect for the demanding sailing conditions of Southeast Asia.

  2. Short Batten Mainsail for a J/22
This mainsail is destined for the Sail, Power, and Steam Museum in Rockland, Maine. The J/22 is a popular racing boat, and we’re thrilled to contribute to the museum’s collection with a sail that reflects our commitment to quality and precision.

  3. Cross Cut Full Batten Mainsail for an Adams 45
Another Adams 45, this time bound for Portsmouth, UK, will be equipped with a cross cut full batten mainsail. This sail is crafted to provide excellent shape retention and performance, ensuring a smooth sailing experience.

  4. Short Batten Mainsail for a MacGregor 21
Heading to Wynstone, South Dakota, this short batten mainsail is designed for the MacGregor 21, a versatile and popular small sailboat.

  5. Lazy Bag/Stack Pack for an Arrow 1201
We also created a custom Lazy Bag/Stack Pack for an Arrow 1201, which is off to Ocean Marina in Pattaya. This addition will make handling the mainsail much easier, enhancing the overall sailing experience.

  6. Mainsails for RS Qubas and RS Teras
We produced 10 mainsails each for RS Qubas and RS Teras, which are headed to a sailing school in Muscat, Oman. These sails are designed to support the next generation of sailors in their training and development.

  7. Lagoon 400 Square Top Mainsail
For our friends at @NikornMarineTour in Chalong Bay, Phuket, we made a square top mainsail for their Lagoon 400. This sail is tailored to maximize performance and efficiency on their catamaran.

  8. High Roach Mainsail for an Admiral Celtic 40
This high roach mainsail is bound for Wilmington, North Carolina, crafted to optimize the sailing performance of the Admiral Celtic 40, a vessel known for its cruising capabilities.

  9. 115% Roller Furling Genoa for an Island Packet 38 CB
Finally, we created a 115% roller furling genoa for an Island Packet 38 CB, which is heading to Bear, Delaware. This sail is designed for easy handling and superior performance.

Sail Repair Projects

Our repair team has been busy as ever, working on a variety of sails. We were especially pleased to welcome the crew from @SailingwithSix, who brought in their Zoom Sails mainsail for their Lagoon Catamaran for a “birthday treat” repair. Keeping our customers’ sails in top shape is a priority, and we’re always happy to help maintain their performance and longevity.

Customer Spotlight: Sharing the Joy of Sailing

We’ve been incredibly blessed to receive tons of photos from our customers showcasing their sails in action. Here are a few highlights:

  • Nikorn Marine Tour shared a stunning photo of their Lagoon 400 mainsail in Chalong Bay, Phuket.

  • Greg sent in a picture of his SEA Sails Code Zero flying proudly on his Hunter 400 in Hilton Island, South Carolina.

  • Jack from California shared photos of his furling Code Zero on his beautiful J/120.

  • Rick in Guardamar del Segura sent in pictures of the mainsail we made for his Sadler 32.
