SEA Sailmakers Weekly Update: Custom Sails, Repairs, and Annapolis Sailboat Show Preparations

Hello SEA Sailmakers community!

We’re excited to share another update on the fantastic projects our team has completed this week. At SEA Sailmakers, we’re dedicated to crafting high-quality sails and providing expert repair services to keep your vessels in peak condition. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to over the past week.

Custom Sail Projects

  1. Radial-Cut High Roach Mainsail and Genoa for "Tank Girl" This week, we crafted a radial-cut high roach mainsail and genoa in "Challenge Pro-radial sailcloth" for a 52' catamaran named "Tank Girl." This custom project, complete with a unique "Tank Girl Logo," will soon be sailing around Indonesia in search of the best surf. Currently based in Phuket, "Tank Girl" will benefit from our high-quality, durable sails designed for optimal performance.

  2. Roller Furling Genoa for a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 28.1 We completed a roller furling genoa for a Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 28.1, destined for Germany. This sail is designed for ease of handling and reliability, perfect for the diverse sailing conditions found in European waters.

  3. Full Batten Mainsail for a Columbia 8.7 Another highlight of our week is the full batten mainsail we made for a Columbia 8.7, which is headed to Bay Point, California. This sail offers superior durability and performance, enhancing the sailing experience for its new owner.

  4. Asymmetrical Spinnaker for a Finngulf 391 We also created an asymmetrical spinnaker for a Finngulf 391, bound for Turku, Finland. This sail is designed to provide excellent performance in downwind conditions, making it an essential addition for long voyages.

  5. High Roach Mainsail for a Lagoon 38 Our team crafted a high roach mainsail for a Lagoon 38, designed to optimize sail shape and performance. This sail will help the Lagoon 38 harness the wind more efficiently, providing a smoother and faster sailing experience.

  6. Genoa for a Jeanneau Sun Fizz Lastly, we made a genoa for a Jeanneau Sun Fizz, which is set to sail in the Chesapeake. This sail is tailored for durability and versatility, ideal for the varying conditions of the Chesapeake Bay.

Design Team Activities

Our design team has been exceptionally busy, not only designing a variety of new sails but also creating marketing and exhibition materials for the upcoming Annapolis Sailboat Show. Their hard work and creativity ensure that our presence at the show will be both informative and visually appealing.

Expert Sail Repairs

Our repair team has been hard at work on several significant projects this week:

  • Repaired the mainsail, genoa, and lazy bag for a Fountaine Pajot Saba 50 for our friends at Dream Yacht Charter. These repairs ensure that the yacht continues to perform at its best.

  • Repaired an old Rolly Tasker mainsail and genoa for a 41' Hanse, restoring these sails to their former glory and extending their lifespan.
