SEA Sailmakers Weekly Update – From Phuket to Finland, Estonia & Beyond
It’s been another action-packed week here at SEA Sailmakers, with the loft buzzing from early mornings to late evenings as we balanced exciting new sail builds, intricate repairs, and preparations for the upcoming Annapolis Sailboat Show.
⚓ Repairs for World-Class Yachts
Our repair team has been hard at work on sails for some incredible yachts and charter fleets, including boats from Group Island Spirit, Dream Yacht Charters, Sunsail, The Moorings, and Boat Lagoon Yachting. Highlights from the repair loft this week include:
A Mainsail and Genoa made by Incidence Sails for a stunning Lagoon 620.
A Code Zero made by Doyle Sails for a luxurious Sunreef 80.
Service and maintenance on sails from other leading makers, including North Sails, Quantum, and Rolly Tasker, ensuring every sail leaves our loft ready to perform at its best.
✂️ New Sails Completed
Alongside the repair work, our sailmakers finished a wide range of custom projects destined for waters all around the world:
A Lazy Bag / Stack Pack for a Hanse 315, built for a boat in our neighboring AoPo Marina here in Phuket.
A massive Spinnaker for an Elan 494, too big to fully open inside the loft, soon to set sail for Estonia.
A classic Tanbark Hank-On Jib for a beautiful Gaff Rig Sailboat in Western Australia.
An In-Mast Furling Mainsail for a Hunter 306, ready for the waters of Washington State.
Two Radial Cut Jibs for Hunter 22s, soon to be flying across Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea.
🌊 Special Thanks from the SEA Family
A huge thank you to Mika in Finland for sharing stunning photos of his SEA Sailmakers Asymmetrical Spinnaker powering his beautiful Finngulf 391.
Another big thank you to Francois for the fantastic video of his Northshore 370 sailing with a brand-new SEA Sailmakers Headsail, complete with his signature mermaid logo.
📚 Sharing Knowledge & Preparing for Annapolis
While the loft team kept the sewing machines humming, Robert, Sine, Iwiyisi, and Panda have been busy preparing for the Annapolis Sailboat Show, where SEA Sailmakers will be exhibiting at Tent YB 20 from October 9–12.
This week, Robert also took time out to teach a class on sailmaking and sail maintenance at the Island Spirit Sailing School, sharing his passion and expertise with a new generation of sailors.
From meticulous Lagoon and Sunreef repairs to custom sails bound for every corner of the globe, it’s been another week that showcases the skill, dedication, and worldwide reach of the SEA Sailmakers team. If you’re heading to Annapolis, be sure to stop by and say hello—we’d love to see you there!
Fair winds,
The SEA Sailmakers Team
