From Singapore to Songkran: A Busy Two Weeks at SEA Sailmakers
It’s been a full-on couple of weeks here at SEA Sailmakers Thailand—a fantastic mix of work, travel, and some well-earned downtime with the team.
Singapore Yachting Festival – A Great Success
To kick things off, Robert Tasker and Iwiyisi returned from a successful trip to the Singapore Yachting Festival held at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove. It was a brilliant opportunity to reconnect with long-time clients and meet new faces. We had the pleasure of speaking with owners and representatives of top production yachts like Hanse, Beneteau, Lagoon, Leopard, and Sunreef, to name a few.
We also caught up with familiar industry friends and colleagues from Asia Marine, Boat Lagoon Yachting, Simpson Marine (San Lorenzo), The Yacht Sales Co., and many more. A huge thank-you to everyone who took the time to stop by for a chat—it’s always a pleasure putting faces to the names behind the boats.
Celebrating Songkran in Phuket
Back at home in Phuket, we took a short break to celebrate Songkran, the Thai New Year, with what can only be described as the world’s biggest and most joyful water fight. The streets of Phuket were alive with laughter, splashes, and good vibes as our team joined the community in welcoming the new year Thai-style. We hope everyone had a safe and happy celebration!
Sail Repairs & New Builds
On the work front, our repair team has been handling a steady flow of sail repairs, including sails from Rolly Tasker, Incidence, and North Sails (as the official North Sails service loft in Thailand, we’re proud to offer trusted, expert service for cruising and performance yachts alike).
Here’s a quick look at what our sailmaking team has completed over the last two weeks:
In-Mast Furling Mainsail for a Beneteau Oceanis 381, now prepped and packed for delivery to Bauxite, Arkansas.
Furling Jib for a Bavaria Cruiser 56, soon heading to the waters of Singapore.
Furling Jib for a Corsair F-28, now set to cruise the Gulf of Thailand out of Pattaya.
And a shoutout to Tommy, who braved the rigging on a newly arrived Excess 11 catamaran—thanks to the team at Primus Marine, regional distributors, for trusting us with your canvas and sail needs.
Thank You for Sharing Your Photos
We absolutely love seeing our sails out in the wild, and a huge thanks goes out to:
Chris, for sharing an awesome shot of his SEA Sails spinnaker flying beautifully on his Schock 35 in Texas.
Mark, for the incredible photo of his SEA Sails mainsail powering his Ranger 33 Tall Rig through Hawaiian waters.
Giovanni, for capturing the perfect moment with your new SEA Sails Genoa flying proudly on your Morgan 43.
